BEST FOOD IN LAKE CITY. The brunch was amazing. I had the egg's Benedict - was some of the best I've ever had. The Sole and pork dish were amazing as well. Mimosa's were strong and tasty. I highly recommend the dessert as well. I have had their lunch and dinner as well. It is pricey, but worth every penny. Their homemade pizza is awesome. Dinner menu - I recommend steak! Awesome wine selection. Located in the Alpine Moose Lodge. If you drive through or stay in Lake City you must try Bruno's. He and his wife and been in the restaurant business for over 50 years so they know what they are doing in regards to food.

The most delicious food in Lake City- recommend trying it for lunch and for dinner- and definitely don't skip desert, as they are made fresh daily. It is expensive but well worth it! Reservations are a must if you don't want to risk not getting a table.

I have eaten at Bruno's many times and disappointment is rare. Last night we had the lump crab appetizer, mixed grill main course and the chocolate caramel pecan torte for desert. Everything was great - as usual. Frederica used to make the desserts and I'm assuming she still may. The service was excellent with both owners visiting the tables more than once and helpfully making suggestions on selections. I highly anticipate trips to Bruno's. I suggest the crab au gratin appetizer and bison steak - although anything Bruno prepares is likely to please.

The earlier posts that are negative about Bruno obviously doesn't understand cultures and over the top personalities! Bruno is awesome!! Very bold and loud but a teddy bear deep inside. Just stroke his ego and you have him in the palm of your hand. Food is very upper end for such a small town as lake city. Pretty pricey but after all it is in vaykay land! Rack of lamb very tender and smooth. Not to strong. Home made blue cheese salad dressing. Christy had beef tenderloin. It was so tender she didn't have to use a knife. Pull out your wallet and visit here!

Several years ago I, and about 7 other men, were on a guys trip to Lake City. One night we decided on Bruno's. Well, everything was OK (the food wasn't great, but acceptable) until Bruno himself came to our table and asked how everything was. Two of our group had ordered steaks and commented to Bruno that they were a bit on the tough side. Bruno immediately straightened up and told these two men to "go down the road and get a hamburger". He the walked away in a huff. The lesson here is that if you patronize Bruno's you'll get OK food, good service, but don't in any way complain to Bruno about anything because you'll get mightily insulted.

I tried to dine here and the chef himself was so rude to another customer that it freaked me out. He was yelling and so verbally abusive that I figure he must have been drunk! I walked out before he got a chance to rage at me or anyone else. It doesn't matter if the food is good. I'll never be some old unhappy German dude's whipping post.

* Bruno's is part of the Alpine Moose Lodge in Lake City, CO, probably one of the only formal dining options in the town. The reviews of the Alpine Moose Lodge on TripAdvisor triggered the curiosity of our group to meet this Bruno, a man purported to have a fiery personality, excused by locals because he's of French origin. We made sure to have a reservation for our dinner, as forewarned by other local proprietors. Upon our arrival, our table was immediate and service was prompt. While some of our group opted for menu choices, four of us chose from the pizza menu available by request. While we waited, soups and salads for the others appeared sporadically and the opinion was favorable of their flavor. Our pizza was fine, but could perhaps use some honey for the stiff, unnoteworthy crust. Bruno made three trips to our table and is deserving of a hug. Dessert, highly anticipated and finally delivered, was delicious with the Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake trumping the three mousse dessert.
